This is half-day, face-to-face course taking place in Canary Wharf, London.

Synopsis

This course examines some of the common dento-legal difficulties that can arise when treating periodontal issues - and how to avoid them.

Aims

  • To give an overview of the various issues dental professionals can face when caring for people with periodontal disease.
  • To discuss the methods and approaches available for avoiding these issues before they occur, and how best to manage them when they do.

Objectives

  • To understand the importance of communicating effectively with patients.
  • To appreciate the importance of obtaining consent when managing patients with periodontal disease.
  • To understand the need for a detailed history.

It is anticipated that this will help meet GDC learning development outcomes A, C and D.
