What support is available to dental professionals during a GDC investigation?

A GDC investigation is a source of great anxiety. We encourage any DDU member receiving notification of a complaint to contact us immediately so we can assign a dento-legal adviser to help you.

They will be a dental professional with experience of managing fitness to practise cases and will work with your legal team to represent you effectively. They will also be on-hand to answer your questions and provide moral support.

The investigation and adjudication process can last for many months – even years – and members tell us it is reassuring to have someone to turn to for expert advice and encouragement throughout.
