How long does the claims process take?

Competent adults have three years in which to begin formal legal proceedings, either starting from the date of the alleged incident, or from when they became aware that harm may have arisen as a result.

After that, the length of the claims process depends on the complexity and value of the case. It could be months or even years before anything significant happens after the records have been disclosed.

If formal proceedings are launched, the courts will impose a strict timetable and we will deal with day-to-day management on your behalf, keeping you informed of progress.
