You need to balance the likely harm that might arise from non-disclosure of the footage (the nature of the crime that the police are investigating) against the possible harm to the patient of disclosing it. You should also consider the effect on your relationship with the patient.
Consent should usually be sought for disclosure in the public interest, unless this is not practicable and would undermine the purpose of the disclosure. It's better to seek specific advice from the DDU if you are unsure.
